By the way, incase you are wondering, I am a die hard Wings fan. The Red Wings are more than just hockey. They are second in the division with 51 points, I can be happy with that, for now.

Hawks Aftermath

Did I write yesterday that a positive was that this Hawks team was looking a lot more like the one from two years ago? Let me take that back...

While watching the Hawks/Flyers game last night, I saw that the Hawks took an early lead, which I predicted.

And they really did sit on it, but it only took like 5 minutes for the Flyers to come back and tie that baby up.

Then it became the Flyer show! Hartnell... van Riemsdyk... (clearly the top two performers for the Flyers if you ask me)

It was 4-2 before you could say Philly.

Then the stupid Blackhawks woke up, and tied it up in the last few minutes.

So it looked like it was going to be an overtime game, which means the Hawks would get at least one point.

But no... The Flyers scored an easy goal in the last few seconds to win 5-4. Which pretty much is what Comast Sportsnet predicted, minus the OT.

The positives for the Flyers:They are second place in the Atlantic Division.
Hartnell has 2 goals and 6 assists in a 6 game point streak.
The Flyers are hungry for a win after losing at the Winter Classic.

The Negatives:
Jagr is out... When you hear his name, you think of a great player. He has a calf injury.
They are playing the team they lost the cup to.
They just fell four points behind first place.

The Positives for the Hawks:
They are looking much like the team that won the Cup two years ago.
The Hawks are hungry for a win, they lost to Edmonton earlier this week. Pathetic.

The Negatives:
Carcillo has been suspended.
Montador is on the IR.

Outcome? Predictions?
I think the Flyers will win 3-2, the Hawks will take an early lead, but the Flyers will take advantage of it while the Hawks relax and sit on it.

The Face Off

This is going to be a blog I am writing for a class at Columbia College Chicago. It has a hockey focus of course. There are a lot of great blogs out there, but I still feel like many of them are missing something. I am looking forward to trying to learn, and write, about hockey.
